The church of Saint Kiriaki Apiranthou is located in Naxos, north of the compound Apiranthou. The church, which contains numerous frescoes dating from the period of Iconoclasm, is a rare case of Byzantine church because of preserved decoration and it is the most important Byzantine monuments in the Balkans. The restoration of this rare Byzantine church was awarded the Europa Nostra Prize and won the highest honor of the prize Grand Prix of Europa Nostra.
