The hill in which the castle is built, was inhabited from the early Neolithic era as some megalithic findings indicate, and has never stopped be inhabited since. The first medieval fortification probably dates at late 10th century AD.
For the restoration of the castle we supplied pozzolan lime mortars, pozzolan, lime, and suitably graded aggregates.
