MONASTERY OF ST. NICHOLAS AT KARIES

In the center of Kynouria, Arcadia, is the Monastery of St. Nicholas at an altitude of 600 meters.

There are two versions for the date the monastery was built. According to tradition monks, who fled there to save themselves from invasion of Agarenes, built it in 1580 AD. According to another version, the construction of the Monastery is placed in 1620-21, as reported in the Turkish document.
For the restoration of the Monastery we supplied exclusively mortars without cement. To fill the wall gaps we used finished injection mortar without cement ALBARIA INIEZIONE and for the enhancement ALBARIA STRUTTURA.

To address the rising humidity we supplied a specific system three-layer plaster RINZAFFO 720, INTONACO MACROPOROSO 717 & FINITURA 750.
